Freestyle Ontario Launches New Club Development Project With Shawn Letton
Dear Freestyle Ontario Community Members,
We are very excited to announce the launch of a new project that we believe will bring Ontario snow sports programs and PSOs toward higher levels of capacity and system alignment. This project is being executed in partnership with Alpine Ontario Alpin and Ontario Snowboard. Funding for this project has been provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Leading this project will be Shawn Letton, who will serve as the Club Development Manager for Freestyle Ontario, Alpine Ontario Alpin, and Ontario Snowboard. In this role Shawn will provide individualized outreach with Ontario's club and ski school leaders. Shawn will guide the leaders through the PSO system, and help them better utilize PSO services to enhance their programs. Through working with the clubs and ski schools, Shawn will help Ontario's snow sports programs bounce back from the pandemic by expanding their operational capacity, and connecting their programs with the national sport system.
Shawn enters this project with a wealth of industry experience. Shawn served as the Alpine Program Manager at Beaver Valley Ski Club for the past six years. While with Beaver, Shawn managed programming for 750 participants across alpine, snowboard, and freestyle. Prior to his time at Beaver, Shawn worked as the Freestyle/Development Programs Director at Georgian Peaks Ski Club, and as Freestyle Ontario's Executive Director. Shawn has a strong connection to Ontario's club and ski school network, while also having a deep understanding of the PSO system.
We are very excited about what this project can do for snow sports programming in Ontario, and are thrilled to have Shawn join our team.
Sincerely,
Eli Budd
