About Our Clubs
Our member clubs develop and create the core programming that supports freestyle skiing within Ontario. We work closely with our member clubs to provide excellent Freestyle Ski Programs that create strong skiers and unforgettable experiences. These clubs are members of Freestyle Ontario and Freestyle Canada. They provide the best opportunities for skiers to grow in the sport of freestyle skiing.
If you are looking for programming at a club near you, select “Learn More” to find out more information on each one of our member clubs.
Level of Programming
Below are three categories of programming that are offered by Freestyle Ontario member clubs. A club will offer programming that aligns with one or more of these categories.
Recreational - Recreational programs are designed to:
Introduce skiers to freestyle skiing for the first time, and/or;
Develop a skier’s foundational freestyle skills during their first few years in the sport, and/or;
Provide freestyle programming for skiers who do not wish to progress through the Freestyle Canada competition pathway.
Comp-Intro
Comp-Intro programs support athletes as they train and compete in provincial-level competitions such as the Timber Tour or Provincial Championships (hyperlink to Timber Tour page). The Timber Tour is a provincial event series that introduces athletes to structured, provincially ranked competitions through a fun, safety-minded, athlete-centered, community-supported environment.
Participating in the Timber Tour enters skiers into a long-term competition pathway that can lead athletes from the grassroots level all the way up to becoming an Olympian. Freestyle Timber Tour alumni include 1 Olympic medalist, 5 Olympians, and 9 Freestyle Canada National Team/NextGen Team athletes.
Competitive
Competitive programs support athletes as they train and compete in national and/or international events such as Freestyle Canada’s Canada Cups, Canadian Championships, or FIS NorAms.
Note, these are quota-based events that require athletes to be selected through Freestyle Ontario and/or Freestyle Canada selection policies (hyperlink to FO Selection Criteria page). Registration in a Competitive program does not guarantee selection to these events.
