WHAT IS THE “NCCP”

The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) provides standardized, inclusive, and safe sport education to coaches and coach developers across 65 sports within Canada. The Coaching Association of Canada manages and delivers NCCP training through its partner network of 65 National Sport Organisations and Provincial/Territorial Sport Organisations (including Freestyle Ontario and Freestyle Canada.)

WHAT IS AN “NCCP NUMBER”

Your NCCP# is your coach education profile. All NCCP coach training and education is recorded through an online database called The Locker. Your training from every sport and at every context is recorded here. In order to take an NCCP module you will need an NCCP#. You will also be asked for your NCCP# annually when you purchase your Freestyle Ontario Coach Membership.

HOW DO I GET AN NCCP#

  1. Go to www.coach.ca and click on the tab called THE LOCKER then click on “Don’t have an account? Create one now! “ — Check the box that says “I want to create a Locker account for access to my transcript, eLearning opportunities, to sign up for coaching events, and more!” – Fill in your info – Click Register

  2. Login to your email account and open the verification email that was sent to you. Click on the “click here” link at the very end of the email. Create a password and submit — Click on the Icon “Profile” — In the left hand corner of your screen under your name is your NCCP#

HOW DO I COMPLETE THE COACH MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS?

  • Safe Sport Training - REGISTER - (Free/Available Anytime/Online)

  • Making Headway in Freestyle Ski - REGISTER - (Free/Available Anytime/Online)

  • NCCP Make Ethical Decisions - REGISTER - ($75/Scheduled/Online or In-Person) Provided by the Coaches Association of Ontario

  • Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation - (Free/Online/available in THE LOCKER after completion of Make Ethical Decisions training)

CAN I REGISTER FOR COACHING COURSES IF MY COACH MEMBERSHIP IS NOT YET VALID?

Your coach membership will not be valid for coaching athletes until you complete all of the requirements. However you may register for coach training modules as soon as the required membership has been purchased in SnowReg.
